Specialist Teams
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Our cardiology service is organised into four specialist teams. Click a team below to read more about the care they provide.
Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Team
The ACS team are an experienced team of cardiac specialist nurses, who provide a service to review patients presenting with chest pain suspected of being secondary to an Acute Coronary Syndrome. As part of their assessment, we aim to ensure that patients are assessed, managed and transferred to the appropriate area for ongoing care and management. We liaise with the team at Royal Papworth to facilitate transfers for those patients within the Trust who require urgent intervention.
We also provide the outpatient Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic service and can request further investigations to aid ongoing management.
Referrals can be made via ICE or the team can be contacted on Ext 8688 or Bleep 1744.
Heart Failure (HF) Team
The Heart Failure Nurse Specialist team consists of experienced Heart Failure Nurse Specialists who work alongside the consultants. We seek to ensure that patients with a diagnosis of Heart Failure receive holistic, evidence-based care to improve quality of life, reduce mortality and hospital admissions and improve access to palliative and end of life care when necessary.
The Heart Failure team aims to see inpatients with a confirmed diagnosis of Heart Failure. We also run outpatient clinics to review patients progress and ensure that they are on the correct medication.
Referrals can be made by via ICE or the team can be contacted on Bleep 1335.
Cardiology Research Team
